Installation on Linux - MCC assets have no file extensions

Greetings. ;)
Alright, this may make me look stupid (or inexperienced, whatever), or maybe this was mentioned somewhere already but I haven't recognised the information I'm looking for..

I've downloaded the latest MinecraftClient-..-linux-x64 file from these here GitHub assets, but they apparently don't have a file extension and they're neither .deb nor any other type of archive I've tried.
Ideally, I just want a .deb or flatpak or at least a definitive type of archive I can extract manually.

I've watched the video mentioned in the Installation section, and read through the "common Q&As" post.

What do I actually need to do to install MCC?

Linux Mint 22 (Linux 6.8.0-51-generic, Cinnamon)

It's an executable binary file, not an archive.
Run it by calling the file name on the terminal or by double-clicking the downloaded file.

Here is the output for the file command, using the current latest official release.

Also had to chmod the file to permit its execution after moving it, although it was downloaded to ~/Downloads.
