I HAVE A QUESTION YOU GUYZ !!!!

I am not student of cs oe related anyhow with cs , this might sound ridiculous to everyone , but why do we even need bits to store data ? you guyz isnt it more hard to like break a thing into peices and then when needed glue it back and display it . 
it takes more time . Whyyyyyyyy Whyyy i have so much questions
