Feature description

Instead of opening the email in the footer, it should show a dialog and let the user know that this mail is not for support purposes, feature requests and similar and that emails will be ignored if ignored. The dialog can show the mail link. The dialog should be customizable via the API.

Motivation

The mail link in the footer attracts a lot of spam and gives the false sense of being a support or feature request channel. Instead it is there for general contact reasons, such as legal or meta.

The dialog could mention a keyword that needs to be included in the title or body of a mail and the inbox can filter mails this way for people that don't read the notice. However, in this case the API needs to provide a dedicated email for the website.

Acknowledgements

  • I have checked all open and closed feature requests and this is not a duplicate
  • I have chosen an appropriate title.
  • All requested information has been provided properly.
