Code of Conduct

Our commitment

Vestrix is a security and forensics tool used across widely different contexts — home labs, research, and eventually enterprise SOC environments. We want the project's community to be as trustworthy as the software: welcoming, harassment-free, and professional.

Expected behavior

  • Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experience levels.
  • Give and accept constructive criticism gracefully — this applies especially to benchmark and accuracy claims, where honest pushback is the whole point of the project's credibility model.
  • Focus critique on the work, not the person.
  • Assume good faith, especially in early-stage or rough contributions.

Unacceptable behavior

  • Harassment, insults, or personal attacks, public or private.
  • Publishing others' private information without consent.
  • Deliberately submitting misleading benchmark data or falsified test results.
  • Any conduct that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

Scope

This applies to all project spaces — issues, pull requests, discussions — and to any other setting where someone is representing the project.

Enforcement

Report concerns privately via the contact listed in SECURITY.md (for security-adjacent conduct issues) or by opening a private communication channel with the maintainer. Reports will be handled with discretion. Maintainers may remove comments, close issues/PRs, or ban contributors for behavior that violates this code.

Attribution

This document is an original, project-specific code of conduct; it is not a reproduction of any third-party text.
