Vestrix is a security and forensics tool used across widely different contexts — home labs, research, and eventually enterprise SOC environments. We want the project's community to be as trustworthy as the software: welcoming, harassment-free, and professional.
- Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experience levels.
- Give and accept constructive criticism gracefully — this applies especially to benchmark and accuracy claims, where honest pushback is the whole point of the project's credibility model.
- Focus critique on the work, not the person.
- Assume good faith, especially in early-stage or rough contributions.
- Harassment, insults, or personal attacks, public or private.
- Publishing others' private information without consent.
- Deliberately submitting misleading benchmark data or falsified test results.
- Any conduct that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.
This applies to all project spaces — issues, pull requests, discussions — and to any other setting where someone is representing the project.
Report concerns privately via the contact listed in SECURITY.md (for security-adjacent conduct issues) or by opening a private communication channel with the maintainer. Reports will be handled with discretion. Maintainers may remove comments, close issues/PRs, or ban contributors for behavior that violates this code.
