Cannot Run Roslyn Compiler

Those of us without access to the Group Policy on our servers to allow EXE's, cannot run the Roslyn Compiler in the Microsoft.CodeDom.Providers.DotNetCompilerPlatform_04.01.00_Install.zip.

Renaming the ZIP to Microsoft.CodeDom.Providers.DotNetCompilerPlatform_04.01.00_Install.zip**.Resources** prevents it from running and allows for a good install/upgrade.

However, if this is done in all future upgrades, how will it affect DNN?

This component is required to support newer C# language features. So, without this component, certain ascx controls or cshtml Razor templates may not work as expected (i.e. may throw an error instead of rendering).

Is this from GoDaddy hosting, or is there another host which does not allow this component? I would strongly suggest that you contact your hosting provider's support team, this is using a standard and supported component from Microsoft.
