There are two different cases that I observed with recent LLMs. One is how they often make things up on the spot to comply with certain immediate requirements without understanding context. Another is how they will scrap a long piece of code completely and start from scratch, without understanding why the intended complexity was there. Not sure if it is a context management issue or a prompting issue.
