Using a custom app template

We often face the issue that we had new apps in existing repositories or create new repositories based on AL-Go. So far so good and daily doing.
The problem for us now is that the action "create new app" is not very useful. Many properties and settings are of course not set as in our basic pte template for our customers or products. So, the first thing that we do after adding new app is to include our own "app template" into the new generated app. Doing this manually is very time-consuming and error-prone.
I have several ideas to implement that automatically in our process. First i could add an alternate action for "create new app" were i write my own code. Or i can fork al-go and redesign the existing create new app. Neither seems to be the right way to solve this.

Is there a plan (or an existing solution that I don't know yet) that we can place a custom app template somewhere central so al-go use it instead of the standard hello world template?

Create a new app was really only supposed to be for helping beginners creating a new app.
I would assume that people would instead just clone the repo and add a new app in VS Code or like.

Do you see value in using the Create a new app workflow over just doing it in VS Code?

Ok then I guess I just expected too much from create new app :D

But of course, i see much value in a workflow because it could be a great way to make sure that every app based on a centralized and maintained template. So that the first commit of a new app is an automated system commit where we can be sure that the app template is integrated correctly. Then the first time the AL developers open vs code and clone the repository they can start writing AL code and not have to worry about wrong folder structure, ruleset, settings etc.

I think that is an excellent idea - probably being able to specify an app template on an org. level or like.
Definitely something I will add as an idea - but not something we have today.
