notebooks build output directory

Hopefully a simple question, I couldn't see anything in the documentation, is there a way to specify the output directory/folder for the built html and assets?

notebooks build --root docs -- docs/*.html

The default option seems to be to build into a hidden folder .observable/dist in the directory that is flagged as root, it would be nice to have some visibility and control of the location.

Yes, there is an --out (or shorthand -o) argument to the notebooks build command. Note that the output path is relative to the specified root (such as docs).
