You exceeded your current quota

There are other threads about the codex error "You exceeded your current quota". Does codex use the API key and apply API token usage? Is there a way to get codex to use ChatGPT Pro? Is a fix/change forthcoming? This is now a block for me and codex.

I'm using @openai/[email protected] on Ubuntu.

I use a simple .bat file to switch when to api mode when I reach the limit. Had a good run below on the plusplan today. V0.36 of codex
You do not need to upgrade to pro, just "pay-as-you-go" on API mode....but watch the cost....
