Official youtube app with no ads, i hope to help the devs with my yt app bug

I've got an official youtube app from play store running on my old phone with no ads for the past 1.5 years. Everywhere else i have ads, except the yt app on that phone. I'm not using ad blockers, revanced, premium or anything else that would prevent ads. In browser i get ads. I get a 10 second unskippable ad 3 times a month on average.

I haven't ever factory reset the phone or deleted the yt app data or cache for obvious reasons.

The reason why i'm typing this here is that i hope that this bug is reproducable and can help revanced. I've used revanced before this phone, i use it now after it. I want to give back to the community.

I hope that it can be of use and please ask for any extra information, proof or logs that could be helpful.

Perhaps because it's a folding phone?

Do you get ads while swiping thru Shorts? That's the only ads that can appear in patched YouTube.

I've googled and it seems like it's a rare thing to get. Nonetheless, i would love it if it would help. I don't get ads in shorts, ever.

It's a regional thing. YouTube isn't showing ads in certain regions of the world, nothing new

Not a regional thing, everyone around me has ads, including me and including on the same device, but on a browser.

Try patching YouTube with only GmsCore support and see if you have ads. Install on the same folding device and use the same YT account.

I would say it's something with your account, but you get ads on the website (unless they've picked your account for "no ads for Android YouTube app").

So the only difference is you're using a folding phone. I'll try if this is reproducible on Android dev emulator.

On other device's, like the pixel 6 pro i'm typing on, i also get ads and have to use revanced. The fold i have is the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

If you need any logs or hell, imei and sn to completely reproduce my device, i'm willing to give it.
