iirc i made up these names, as plotly simply recognizes the symbols. However i can see why ascending being 'down left, up right' might make more sense |

The introduced change switches the characters that define the pattern fill shape:
Ascending stripes: "\" -> "/"
Descending stripes: "/" -> "\"
