Is background play audio only?

Hi,

Pretty straight forward question, when playing a video in the background (I guess thanks to YouPiP?), is it downloading the video packets or just audio ones?

Additional question, is it requesting the video from YouTube or just the audio? To know if it's causing more server load (and energy consumption)
