Great discussion topic! I haven't seen this formally proposed before. A distinct yet connected logo would definitely help with clarity in presentations and docs. Worth exploring, but would need Meta's review and community buy-in to avoid fragmentation. |

Exploring a distinct visual mark/logo for React Native #998 refers to a discussion or proposal about creating a unique logo or visual identity for React Native. The goal is to give React Native its own recognizable brand, separate from React, while still reflecting its connection to the React ecosystem. It also helps developers and users identify React Native more easily across documentation, apps, and community resources. |

I think a distinct visual identity could be beneficial, especially for documentation, presentations, and educational content where React and React Native are often discussed side by side. One challenge with the current logo is that it can be difficult for newcomers to immediately distinguish whether a resource is focused on React for the web or React Native. That said, I believe any new logo should remain visually connected to the React brand. React Native benefits from being recognized as part of the React ecosystem, and a completely different identity could unintentionally create confusion about that relationship. A good approach might be to keep the core React visual language while introducing a subtle mobile-oriented element that makes React Native recognizable at a glance. ;) |

Summary
I am curious to hear people's thoughts on if React Native should adopt a logo and general visual-identity that is distinct from React. I am not proposing an immediate replacement PR, just opening a discussion to check:
Motivation
React Native is closely tied to React and the current visual identity uses the same React atom logo. From a technical standpoint this makes sense, but it has also made it harder for React Native to distinguish itself as a framework. There is no easy way to visually mark "this is about React Native" without having the text "React Native" next to the atom.
Giving React Native a distinct logo would be incredibly useful for:
To my knowledge, there has not been an effort to explore this yet.
Problem
Because React and React Native share an identical visual mark, it is not always clear whether the icon refers to:

Potential Concepts
Below are some simple concepts I came up with for fun and to illustrate the idea. Any actual logo design would require a large review process; these are just to hear feedback if people are still interested in this.

Thanks for considering this. Would love to know the community's thoughts on creating a distinct React Native logo.
