View Splunk visualizations in Visual Studio Code without leaving the code editor.

Enable Embedding on a Splunk Report

Report embedding enables Splunk visualizations and reports to be used outside of the Splunk Web interface.

1. On the Splunk search head, go to Settings -> Searches, reports, and alerts
2. On the report to be embedded, choose Edit -> Embed
3. Click the Enable Embedding button.

Note: it is not necessary to use the generated HTML

View the Report in Visual Studio Code

1. Open the Splunk Explorer from the Activity Bar.
2. Refresh the reports in the report view.
3. Click the View icon on the report.

Note: this view will refresh based on the View Refresh Interval in the settings.
