Does Predbat need to see PV production?

Hi, I have a pair of inverters; a Solis attached to the panels and a SolaX (AC coupled) to the batteries. I am unable to directly read the PV production (dongle on the Solis inverter broke and hasn't been replaced), but the SolaX inverter gives me house_load, grid_import, grid_export and inverter_power (plus a few others), so in theory I could calculate PV generation at any point in time based on these others, but not sure if Predbat needs to see this.

Interesting question, never heard that one before.

In theory predbat doesn't really need to see PV production because it does all the planning based on house load, solar forecast and battery SoC, but some bits like PV calibration will clearly not work.

You would definitely need to configure predbat with dummy sensors in place of PV power and PV energy.

But definitely worth trying. I can't see why not
