If I understand the Waveshare display correctly then it's possible to PWM dim the backlight with a small hardware mod. The night mode just doesn't get dim enough in a dark room.
Would it be possible to support this in the firmware? It could also only be shown if a different unused pin is set high to not confuse people or suggest existance of a feature that requires alteration of the hardware.
If at all possible it would be nice if it could be considered.
