Google colab crashes after restart

I’m trying to run manim on Google Colab, following the instructions here: https://docs.manim.community/en/stable/installation/jupyter.html

After running the specified cell:

!sudo apt update
!sudo apt install libcairo2-dev ffmpeg \
    texlive texlive-latex-extra texlive-fonts-extra \
    texlive-latex-recommended texlive-science \
    tipa libpango1.0-dev
!pip install manim
!pip install IPython --upgrade

and clicking "restart runtime", Google colab systematically crashes and never reconnects, with messages in the log:

Only deleting the runtime allows the notebook to become responsive again.
