Missing file info
The detail page doesn't show the file type (EPUB, PDF, etc.) or file size, and it doesn't appear to be available anywhere else in the app. It would be helpful to see this on the detail page, ideally near the import date where it would fit naturally.
Missing book description
There's no field for a book description or synopsis, meaning there's no way to know what a book is about without opening and skimming it or searching online. A description field populated from the book's embedded metadata on import, with the option to fill it in manually if missing, would make it easy to know what a book is about without leaving the app.
The detail page might also be a natural place to surface other embedded metadata where available, such as series name and book number. This would connect books within a series and is tied to a broader future feature request.
Note — Book Read Stat
The stat showing "__ book read" currently reflects import order rather than actual reading history. A more meaningful version might show something like:
"44th of 130 books completed" — for books genuinely read to completion within the app, where the number could reflect the sequential order they were finished.
"Read — out of 130 books completed" — for books manually marked as read, acknowledging they were read without implying a tracked order.
The total could reflect all books marked as read, including those manually marked via the read status feature suggested in #841.
