New M26 Group 1 Paper 2 Grading #18

Hi everyone, as I'm sure you all know, IB is changing the assessment criteria for Lit and LangLit Paper 2 (see https://resources.ibo.org/dp/news/364?categories=dp if you have a teacher login). The old rubric had criterion A (Knowledge, understanding, and interpretation) and B (Analysis and evaluation) worth 10 points, and C (Focus and organization) and D (Language) worth 5, for a total of 30. The new rubric makes A worth 5 rather than 10, and splits B into B1 (Analysis and evaluation of textual features and/or broader authorial choices, worth 5 points) and B2 (Comparative analysis, also worth 5 points). Crit C and D are left unchanged, for a total of 25 marks rather than 30. The IBPredict Group 1 subject grade predictor still has paper 2 worth 30, which makes sense as the changes only apply starting with the May 2026 session.

Hence, I was wondering what the best move was: if we change it now, that's misleading to November 2025 students. If we don't, however, some May 2026 may use it and not realize the grading has changed. But adding both would be confusing and visually clutter the UI. So I just wanted to open the conversation about it: what do y'all think we should do? At the very latest I'd say it should be changed when November 2025 results come out, if not earlier, but what about until then?
