Easy find for parent tubes for loan subsampling

Here is a somewhat frequent process. A tissue loan request comes in for all the frozen livers from a series of specimens. I make the loan, adding the part subsamples. Then I take the list of catalog numbers, query for them, use the parts tool to download a spreadsheet to find all the tubes, e.g. rack, slot, box, position. But, in many cases there is more than one tissue tube per specimens, so one needs to rely on the parent ID to find the right tube to subsample. So there is a manual step of looking through the spreadsheet for just those parents by corss referencing the parent id from child to parent.
Is it currently possible to go directly from the loan interface to find the part locations of just the parent parts? If not, would others find that useful, or would it be ridiculously hard to do?

Can you clarify which loan interface you are refering to? The Add Items to Loan tool in the Edit Consumable page?

I was thinking of at the edit loan like transaction. For instance, I have loan 2025.9668.Mamm. At the bottom of the page are tools like review attached items, view involved catalog records. But, for a consumable loan, like this, it would be swell if there was a tool, just like on a regular specimen search, to find all the part locations, but just for the parents of the children in the loan. I don't want to see the locations of the 3 to 5 other parts for the included MVZ specimens, just those that parent the to-be-subsampled tubes.

You are doing this for parts that have already been subsampled/added to the loan? Could the parent part location path (or a link to the Containers tool for this search) be added to the Review Loan Items page, next to Parent Part ID column?

I created the loan and made the subsample in Arctos. The tissues have not been subsampled. I want to make a spreadsheet to find the parent tubes that I will take to the lab to get the tubes to subsample. If I download all the part info, the digital subsamples do indicate which other parts are the parents. I am just wondering if there is any faster way to do this then manually poring over the spreadsheet to match up the subsamles and their parents. And delete skulls and skels, and subsamples from other loans. All easy with sorting on disposition, part type, etc., but just a little tedium I would like to skip with the power of computers.

If I understand correctly, we do this differently. We do a search on the catalog records, do the parts download and find the parents and their barcodes, part IDs, and part locations first, and then go find the parents in the collection. We don't create the digital subsamples in advance; instead we mark to subsample the parent when we use the Add Items tool or do a loan bulkload. This way we don't have to figure out what subsample matches what parent, because Arctos does this automatically.
But I do think that having a link in Edit Loan to open the part locations of all items in a loan would be very useful.

As far as manually deleting skulls etc, or items already on loan, transfer of custody etc, we use the filter function in Excel to whittle down to what we actually want to include in the loan, e.g. all liver samples with a part location and not on loan. Then I copy this filtered version into a new tab, so it only includes my selected rows.
