Description

To ensure our app is inclusive and welcoming for all, including the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, we want to integrate diverse perspectives into the design process. However, we aim to balance inclusivity with simplicity, avoiding overwhelming users with too many options. Here's a proposed approach:

1. Collaboration with Integrale ETS:
   Partner with Integrale ETS, a student group focused on diversity and inclusion, to gather insights and suggestions on how we can respectfully and effectively cater to the needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community within the app.

2. Dynamic and Contextual User Experience:

   • Instead of displaying all gender and orientation options to every user upfront, we can design a guided onboarding process. This process dynamically tailors options based on a user's preferences and identity to keep the interface clean while respecting diversity.
   • For example, a user selecting “non-binary” could see more nuanced options specific to their experience.

3. Opt-In Features:

   • Allow users to access more detailed identity options and preferences if they choose, ensuring that those who need these options can find them while keeping the default experience simple for others.

4. Community Feedback and Iteration:

   • Once we design an initial system, invite Integrale ETS to review and provide feedback to ensure we’re meeting the needs of diverse users.
