Source code

The source code for the CellProfiler project is hosted in Git repositories administered by GitHub. The code can be checked out from these locations:

• CellProfiler 4 (Python 3.8): https://github.com/CellProfiler/CellProfiler/
• CellProfiler Analyst 3 (Python 3.8): https://github.com/CellProfiler/CellProfiler-Analyst/
• Deprecated versions, no longer actively developed:

Installation

• CellProfiler-Analyst Developer's version installation for PC
• CellProfiler-Analyst Developer's version installation for Mac
• Installation instructions for compiled versions of CellProfiler-Analyst are available at http://www.cellprofileranalyst.org.

Creating/retrieving executables

• Release versions (including past versions) are available at http://www.cellprofileranalyst.org.

We typically now build on GH Actions, see deprecated instructions below When building in GH Actions, note that if you want to build a branch rather than master, you need to a) do the cloning and the checkout in the GH Action and b) then edit the Makefile to get it to skip running those steps.
