"New Chat"-confirmation popup behaves counter-intuitively (bug?)

Describe the bug

The "New Chat" button (top-left) launches a confirmation popup with two options

• Cancel (secondary colour)
• Confirm (primary colour)

The UI is confusing/unintuitive: hitting enter closes the popup without starting a new chat. Enter must be mapped to Cancel, despite clear colour cue to the opposite.

Expected behavior

Given that the Confirm-button is highlighted with the primary colour, it is natural to expect that hitting Enter will be equivalent to clicking on Confirm.

Development environment:

• chainlit-2.8.0
• python-3.13.5

Desktop (please complete the following information):

You're right—this Enter key behavior in the "New Chat" confirmation popup is counter-intuitive and doesn't match standard UI conventions, where Enter typically triggers the primary (highlighted) action. I couldn't find any documentation or existing tickets directly addressing this issue, but there are related reports of inconsistent Enter key mapping in other Chainlit dialogs, suggesting it may be a broader UX oversight rather than an intentional design (#2120). For now, using mouse clicks to confirm is the most reliable workaround. It may be worth keeping an eye on future releases, as similar UI bugs have been fixed in the past.
