where do we specify the character set

in qudt:symbol, there are non-ascii characters, e.g, MegaJ-PER-M2-DAY has qudt:symbol "MJ/m²/day" ;
I don't a character set declaration at the top of the file. Character sets are not mentioned in the guidelines, nor are symbols.

Hi. Sorry for the delay in responding. We are trying to migrate all of our qudt:symbol values to Unicode, but you are correct, this isn't well documented. (It was mentioned in passing in the release notes for v2.1.22, but only indirectly). I will update our wiki. Thanks for pointing this out.

I have updated our wiki documentation, but I'm actually puzzled because I don't believe we have the unit MegaJ-PER-M2-DAY in our vocabulary. Can you tell me where you found it?

My mistake, MegaJ-PER-M2-DAY is one that we are proposing. Here are some existing units that also use this character to express an exponent in the qudt:symbol field: MegaJ-PER-M2, MegaJ-PER-M3, MOL-PER-DeciM3, YD3-PER-DAY.

It looks like we'll be safe setting our editors to UTF8.
