Compiling and running an example

Hello,

What are the steps to compile and run an example?

So far we are pointed to https://github.com/FlintVN/FlintExample where I can see that VSCode is used, but there is no description about what needs to be installed. For example, which JDK is needed to install and how does it work to upload the class file into the ESP32?

My apologies if this is documented somewhere, I just did not found and can volunteer to improve the docs.

Actually I haven’t update description or guide for the example yet.
You just need to install javac to compile and make sure that after installation you can call javac in terminal. About JDK, is uses FlintJDK and FlintESPJDK and they are already integrated in the example.

Steps to build and an example.

• Install javac.
• Open an example in vscode (e.g. open FlintExample/examples/EspIO/Pin).
• Install FlintJVM Debug extension on vscode.
• In vscode press Ctrl+Shift+B to build.
• Specify the COM port that is connected to your ESP32 board in launch.json.
• Press F5 to start debugging. In this step, vscode will support uploading classes to ESP32.

First of all make sure your ESP32 board has FlintESPJVM firmware flashed. You can use esp.flint.vn to do this easily.
