what's the "sample_metadata" in def get_genes_vs_studies(cellarr_path) #40

I am following the scimilarity-main/docs/notebooks/training_tutorial.ipynb, when I used the get_genes_vs_studies function, it noted lack of the definition of "sample_metadata".
could anybody told me a successful experience? or explain the "sample_metadata".
