Agents on OpenClaude

From what I understand, the project uses the same root folder to manage agents as Claude Code. However, even though agents are set up on Claude Code, I'm unable to use them in OpenClaude. Is there anything missing on my end?

This question is also related to agent routing, since we don't have the agents, we're unable to route them.

OpenClaude is intended to work with the same general agent concepts, but there can still be gaps between “Claude Code-compatible layout” and what OpenClaude is currently loading in practice.

So if your agents exist in the expected location but are not showing up in OpenClaude, it is likely one of these:

• the agent directory/path is not being discovered in your current setup
• the agent definitions are not in the format this build currently accepts
• you are on a release that does not yet include the agent-loading behavior you expect

And yes, that would also affect agent routing, because routing only works once those agent identities are actually visible to OpenClaude.

Please paste these and we can narrow it down quickly:

• your OS
• npm install vs source build
• OpenClaude version
• where your agent files are stored
• whether those agents appear in Claude Code but not OpenClaude

If you want, include one example agent file with any private details removed, and we can check whether the format/path is the issue.

Following up on the earlier reply — if you can share the details requested (OS, install method, version, where your agent files are stored, and whether they show up in Claude Code but not OpenClaude), we can narrow down the discovery issue quickly.

In the meantime, a quick check: OpenClaude looks for agent configs in ~/.openclaude/agents/ by default. If your agents are in a ~/.claude/agents/ path (Claude Code default), they may not be picked up automatically. You can test by copying or symlinking your agent configs into ~/.openclaude/agents/ and restarting.
