# openARTlas compliance and media controls
## Launch defaults
The soft launch is conservative.
- No third-party ad scripts by default.
- No analytics by default.
- No account by default.
- No exact coordinates in cookies.
- Location is optional and session-only.
- Direct sponsor slot is consent gated.
- Programmatic ads stay off until CMP setup is complete.
## External services
The site can use these external services:
- OpenStreetMap and Overpass for live nearby venue discovery.
- MapLibre compatible map tiles for display.
- Wikimedia Commons and MediaWiki image metadata for open image enrichment.
- Google Maps URLs only when the user taps map or transit links.
- GitHub Pages and GitHub Actions for hosting and scheduled refresh.
- Optional AI endpoint only server-side.
- Optional rating import only through source-backed feeds.
## Media use
Preferred media order:
1. Venue image with source and license.
2. Artwork image with source and license.
3. Wikimedia Commons image with extmetadata.
4. Original openARTlas icon or logo fallback.
The site should not use scraped images without a usable source and rights signal.
Every external image card must keep attribution or a source link.
## Takedown path
Rights holders can contact:
torsten.sauter@icloud.com
Requested removals should be reviewed quickly.
## Ads
Direct ads can run from `public/data/ads.direct.json` after creative approval.
Personalized ads require a certified CMP, vendor IDs, ads.txt approval, privacy page updates, and consent logs.
## Remaining launch action
Before public commercial use, ask counsel to review:
- Impressum
- privacy notice
- sponsor terms
- cookie and consent wording
- image and takedown policy
- liability wording
- applicable Swiss, EU, UK, and US consumer law requirements
