New feature owners have a hard time finding out how to generate an intent to ship (I2S) #6040
Description
Several folks have said that the button to generate these emails is hard to find.
The key problems are:
- The gate chips are not obviously buttons that can be clicked
- There is no indication that the user needs to visit the API Owners gate to generate the I2S
- Feature owners should be advised to seek cross-functional reviews before generating an I2S
Possible solutions:
- Make the gate chips look more button-like
- Add help text on the page that mentions the button so that users will try clicking. Include specific terms that users said they were expecting to find, such as "Intent to prototype" and "Intent to ship".
- Use a tutorial bubble to specifically point out the gate chips when appropriate.
- Add help text to the bottom of the editing forms that guides feature owners to their potential next step
