When I try to open two or more files I get an error dialog with a Cannot open connection to first instance message

no, only one instance. as is the normal use-case for us. opening one to many logfiles in one inststance of logexpert.
i am now able to achieve this, if i start the LogexpertgRPCService.exe before then opening one and more logfiles.

but i assume this is not the intended workflow, is it?

ah, no this might be the problem all along, that the gRPCService is not started automatically with the normal .exe, this is an oversight

ok. so how would you start it automatically?

that needs to be done with a new version or a bat file, but we will change the interprocess communication to named pipes, then grpc is no longer needed for that

this should be fixed now, since grpc is no longer responsible for the interprocess communication, named pipes are used instead

ok, great! i tried the latest version 1.20.0. while the issue with grpc seems to be solved i am not able to open multiple files in one window at all now. activating the "Allow only 1 instance" checkbox seems to have no impact. every logfile i open by double-clicking on, opens in a new window. is this still an issue or am i doing something wrong?
