[Feature Request] Home connect matter plugin

BSH has the application “home connect” where kitchen appliances from Bosch, Siemens, gaggenau and others can be added and controlled from. As I was looking online I found the following device:
Smart kitchen dock - https://www.home-connect.com/global/help-support/partner-services/smart-kitchen-dock

And it seems to work as a bridge between the home connect appliances and other matter bridges.

Which leads me to think that it is possible to also have a similar plugin for the matter bridge, like the Shelly or Sonfy one, but for Home Connect instead.

Additionally I found this GitHub, which appears very complete in terms of functionality available to the appliances:

Hope it makes this idea possible.

If someone wants to implement this then thoukydides/homebridge-homeconnect might be an easier starting point than hcpy.

Have you checked what clients support the Matter device types for Home Appliances? I am pretty sure that the Apple Home app doesn't, so for HomeKit users a Matterbridge implementation wouldn't be any better than the Homebridge version, and would lose the more sophisticated configuration editor.

I see in the description of the Smart Kitchen Dock it says:

Please note that Matter 1.2 is currently supported. This version brings important improvements and extended device compatibility, but the use of this version is limited by the availability of compatible controllers. With Matter 1.2 just a limited amount of connected household appliances is supported. You can control your Home Connect enabled washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer with Matter 1.2.

Homebridge UI supports a fully custom UI provided by the plugin: https://github.com/homebridge/plugin-ui-utils

This is heavily used by thoukydides/homebridge-homeconnect to provide the appropriate configuration options for the specific devices in the account:

That is just the framework API for developers to use. It doesn’t say anything about whether the Home app supports it.

If you look at the robot vacuum cleaner clusters then you will see that they say support was added in iOS 17.4, but the Home app only supported them in iOS 18.4:

As of 27 September 2024, the Apple Home app supported (support.apple.com) these types of Matter accessory:

• air conditioners
• bridges
• lights
• locks
• sockets
• switches
• thermostats
• blinds and shades
• sensors (motion, ambient light, contact, temperature and humidity)

Since then the only announced addition has been:

• robot vacuum cleaners

No support has been announced for any of the other Home Connect appliances types.

Just a short addition: I am using https://github.com/hcpy2-0/hcpy for several months now without any problem. It's fully local and cloud independent. Would be great if this could be implemented to matterbridge :)
