Volumeicon crashes on Wayland/Sway/Waybar

Volumeicon v0.5.1 fails with

(volumeicon:46343): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 21:59:27.231: gtk_widget_get_scale_factor: assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

when attempting to run on Arch Linux/Wayland v1.18.0/Sway v1.5 using Waybar v0.9.3 (using 'tray' module).

I would also like a volume applet any suggestions? Also, I am on Hyprland which is also wlroots. This project seems abandoned but I really want the functionality

Same here. Need a replacement, this doesn't work under wayland.

I have just switched to using Ags to make one myself, doesn't have some of the same features I think but I can add them if I wanted
