I'm new to calcium imaging analysis and am a bit confused about the optimal way to register events from .spks traces after reading the section suite2p docs linked below. I had originally planned to threshold the deconvoluted trace and pick events exceeding 2X standard deviations. It makes sense that this would be throwing away information, but how can events be delineated without somehow setting an onset and offset? Thanks in advance!
