[Question] Version 5.2.18 doesn’t work for me — am I doing something wrong?

With version 5.2.18, I’m getting the following error during build:
No matching export in "node_modules/onesignal-cordova-plugin/dist/index.js" for import "default"

Here is the screenshot of the error:

Is there something I’m doing wrong, or is this a bug in the latest version? With version 5.2.15 everything is ok.

I had this problem as well, I had to downgrade to 5.2.15, which works

I'm away from my pc at the moment but I run an ionic app.
Ionic 8, angular 18 and capacitor 7.
I guess any starter ionic 8 app will display the TS error.

I can replicate in my app as well, Angular 20, NX 20, Ionic 8, Capacitor 6. Version 5.2.15 works.

Error only occurs during builds/serve

Same problem (and probably same Angular/Ionic/Capacitor setup) here, I didn't change anything, just upgraded to 5.2.18.
I'm pretty sure Angular/Ionic/Capacitor don't really play a role here, it's just the packaging/compile process.

5.2.16 is working just fine.

Wild guess without further investigation:
Changing "module": "esnext" to "module": "commonjs" in your tsconfig.json in 5.2.17 might have broken the default export.

Very frustrating, it's broken my angular builds. Reverting to 5.2.16 fixed it.

Sorry was on PTO, I'll be focusing on this issue. Before v5.2.16, the setup was using tsconfig with the target es5 (cjs) export.

5.2.16 might build BUT it will lead to an already reported issue of channels not being fired:

⚡️  [log] - deviceready has not fired after 5 seconds.
⚡️  [log] - Channel not fired: onPluginsReady
⚡️  [log] - Channel not fired: onCordovaReady

As far the fix goes, I believe we just have to remove "type": "module" like how it was in v5.2.15.
