Description
I have now made several close pass-throught of the Greek of Mason's edition of Gregory of Nazianzus's "First Theological Oration" (Orat. 27) and have noticed some errors in the transcription. I have listed them below by line of text and page number to be corrected.
Once these corrections are made, the text can be pulled to the main Perseus/Scaife interface and we can use this as the basis of a Beyond Translation edition.
Corrections:
- Line 828 (pb n=3): ἐπαινέτην,—καὶ καὶ πᾶσαν should be ἐπαινέτην,—καὶ δεῖ πᾶσαν
- Line 838 (pb n=3): ‘Ιερεμίας should be Ἱερεμίας
- Line 895 (pb n=4): ἃν should be ἂν
- Line 1108 (pb n=7): should end δίη-, not δίη.
- Line 1197 (pb n=8): ἀγνώμονος, ἢ λίαν should be ἀγνώμονος, ἣ λίαν
- Line 1204 (pb n=8): ὥσπερ αἰ should be ὥσπερ αἱ
- Line 1343 (pb n=10): παιδοΦθορίας should be παιδοφθορίας
- Line 1346 (pb n=10): the word "γνῶ" should be cut.
- Line 1423 (pb n=11): "ὦν" should be cut
- Line 1490 (pb n=12): ἢ should be ἡ
- Line 1495 (pb n=12): θεὸν ἐκδημοῦμεν " should be θεὸν ἐκδημοῦμεν ;
- Line 1893 (pb n=17): The section header "10." should be represented as
<div type="textpart" subtype="chapter" n="10">instead of written with the numeral in the main text. - Several lines have οἲ where it should be οἳ. We can actually do a search-and-replace for all of these since it appears Gregory never uses the form "οἲ".
