Stop including build assets in the repo

Currently, our deployment strategy requires us to check in build assets. These should instead be generated as part of the deployment process and removed from the repo.

I recognize this may be blocked by things like our current hosting environment or deployment mechanism — so consider this issue Aspirational. Although every day that goes by without it, the more tech debt we accrue as we forget to check items in, or generate merge conflicts from branches that otherwise wouldn't have any.
