Different versions of the same album have the same artwork displayed

Some albums with identical names have different versions/editions in my library, often with different artwork. In the library view the displayed artwork will default to one specific version for all of them. It will display the correct one only after hitting "Refresh this image". If I go to any other node/folder in the library and come back, it defaults to just one artwork version again.

Is there any way to disambiguate between different editions in the cover art cache?

As you may notice in the option for the cover cache, "The cache is based on the %album artist% & %album% tags". Best I can tell, a checksum is calculated based on the album artist & album which is used for the image. At some point I'll add the ability to customize the title format used for this from within the skin itself, but for now there's a few different options.

You could just have the albums actually have different names, by adding a zero-width space character to the end (you can copy one here from between the quotation marks "​"). You could also do this by having some kind of readable identifier at the end, like "(2024 Remaster)", and adding a custom tag for a shared album title and updating grouping to something like this $if2(%shared title%,%album%)

Alternatively, a cleaner solution that wouldn't require any tagging is updating the title formatting in the script. In your foobar directory, under profile/themes/eole/js edit JStheme_common.js, and at line 55 alter the crc property and add some additional identifier after album in the $crc32 title format function. For example, if differentiated by date do $if(%album artist%,$if(%album%,$crc32(%album artist%##%album%##%date%),undefined),undefined) or if by some custom property, add that in place of date.
