When reading the JOSS-2 section of Ware's RAND and the Information Evolution on Bitsavers, there is a picture of a list of JOSS and JOSS-like family members on pg. 115.
Who were they? Was it the same software as RAND's JOSS-II? I highly doubt that it could produce a lead, but still interesting.
This might also provide the earliest family tree.
(There is also some obvious overlap with Exec-III, but that's neither here or there.)
