System installation on Debian based system

I use LMDE 7. Pinta is in the app manager only provided as flatpak. i can't stand flatpack and snap.

So i downloaded the tar file from the Pinta homepage, extracted the source files to pinta-3.1 folder.

The "Build on Linux" section on the github project page is a good hint: https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta
Nevertheless i had some issues with compiling the pinta sources.

Here are the steps which worked:

• downloaded and installed dotnet 8.
• installed intltool
• downloaded and compiled the libadwaita-1 dev package, because the configuration needs that lib.
• activated the dev sources in the app manager, because they are needed to compile libadwaita.
• ran ./configure in the pinta-3.1 folder. now worked.
• make. failed.
• downloaded the properties folder with the 4 props files from the github project. they are missing in the tar and zip archives, which are available on the downloads section of the pinta homepage! moved that folder into the pinta-3.1 folder. better download the archive from the github project page.
• restarted make. worked finally.
• sudo make install. worked
• pinta is available! finally
• added menu entry

Please add the properties folder to the tar and zip archives on the Pinta homepage.

Ps. Found an other option by searching, didnt try it.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pinta-maintainers/pinta-stable
sudo apt update
sudo apt install pinta

Yep, I'll be pushing out a 3.1.1 release shortly with the fix for the missing folder (and a few other issues)
