Save as causes "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error

Description
Every time I try to "Save as" I get "Unhandled exception. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." This occurs with different images every time I try to save any change. I have reinstalled Pinta twice (from flathub) and rebooted my system. I have also tried clearing and configuration data (rm -rf ~/.config/pinta)

To Reproduce
Open any jpg image > Make any change (e.g. expand the canvas or drag a selected area) > File > Save as ---> Error

Or even just open an image and do Save as. The error occurs even if no change has been made.

I have Pinta v3.1.1 installed on Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)

Could you provide the full text of the error message? (i.e. from expanding the Details tab in the error dialog)
The stack trace is likely also printed out to the console if you launch from the terminal

Pinta will not run from the command line ("bash: pinta: command not found"). This is probably because it was installed with Flatpak?

I worked out how to run Pinta from the Terminal. Here is what I got:
$ flatpak run com.github.PintaProject.Pinta

I'm not sure why Pinter is trying to access /media/user/software? This is just a place where I have stored some app packages (the images I'm trying to edit are not there). I have around 20 other apps installed from Flatpak that are all working fine, which suggest the Flatpak config is okay.

Thanks, I think the media/user/software error messages are coming from GTK so it isn't anything Pinta specifically is trying to access

I still haven't been able to reproduce the crash , but it might be related to #1079
