Again just for the public record, Animal Logic/Netflix Animation Studios struggles using OIDN with volumes.

It would be good to find out when/if this will be a part of your development schedule. Also, what type of extra channels, if any, would be required to improve this?

I am also planning to use OIDN for volume renderings and now found this. Could you specify a bit more what types of volumes you are struggling with? High / low density (eg. marble vs fog) and high / low albedo? Homogeneous vs heterogeneous? Smoothly heterogeneous or not?

There is some research into the direction of additional feature channels from Disney, but it turns out its not as straight forward. It depends on the types of media you are trying to render.
