Perf_analyzer - How to

Is there more documentation on creating the rules for the Performance Analyzer?
I need to be able to have rules for the front end submission of forms, so someone submits a form with data, the system goes and does a whole lot of code including creation of records, now I need to see what the performance is on that because it takes a long time.
