The formatting changes are all contained in the fmt commit, where I only ran cargo fmt --all due to being too lazy to manually format the prior commits. I can revert that commit if requested and just manually format stuff.

Looks good.

Could you give me a quick rundown about what glutin_interface is and why it exists? Seems that you are doing quite the refactor in winit.

What about I format the master branch and you rebase your commits on top? Would that work for you?

Otherwise I would like to see the commits updating the dependencies and everything related to glutin_interface squashed into two separate commits (with some more descriptive contents), when this PR is ready. (This is will likely have to wait until glutin_interface is published.)
