In the event of the repo no longer being accessible for whatever reason, there should be a git mirror available.

Not a bad idea. Would have to look into what goes into the mirroring process. Codeberg seems like it could be a decent option.

I believe there is some info about mirroring repos to Codeberg in this repo on Codeberg.
