[Bug]: Removed endpoints still available

The Problem

Hello,

We have deployed Stirling PDF v2 using docker compose and are trying to remove unecessary endpoints as we used to in the v1. We are using the documention for endpoints name and the endpoint name in the URL.

However, after making the changes and restarting the server, the endpoints are still available (not grayed out) and visible (even if we toggle on the "Hide unavailable tools" in the configuration from the UI). In the configuration UI, we can see that the tools are selected in the remove list also.

In v2.4.0, endpoint removal relies on the exact endpoint IDs—these may differ from the UI labels or what was used in v1. Double-check your toRemove list against the official tool IDs (e.g., ocr-pdf, merge, compare, etc.), as mismatches will prevent removal.

Also, note that if your settings.yml file (used by the UI or mounted via Docker) contains endpoints.toRemove or groupsToRemove, those values will override any Docker environment variables like ENDPOINTS_TOREMOVE at startup. Make sure your changes are present in the YAML file before starting the container, and that Docker is mounting the correct config file. There is no runtime reload—changes only take effect on container restart.

By default, disabling endpoints only grays them out in the UI for all users. The "Hide unavailable tools" toggle is a per-browser preference, not global. To fully remove or hide disabled tools for everyone, enable SYSTEM_CUSTOMHTMLFILES and override the relevant UI templates as described in the UI customization docs.

If endpoints are still not being removed, check your container logs for any config parsing errors at startup. If you share your config and logs, I can help troubleshoot further.

We did not use the V1 labels, but rather used your documentation and the endpoints directly from the URL.
We did not set up the endpoints to be removed from Docker Compose, but rather from the YAML system file. We also tried the UI settings, but many endpoint options were missing.

I understand that the "Hide Unavailable Tools" feature is browser-specific. It would be nice to have a global setting that hides unavailable tools from all users. In any case, the tools are not grayed out, and the URL is accessible.
