I experience an issue while using Termix to access Cisco network equipment: Every 30 seconds the characters '^@' appear in the prompt and enter is pressed to return to the next line. If I'm in the middle of typing a command this behavior enters the command, which is problematic.

I suspect Termix is sending ssh keepalives and the Cisco equipment is reacting in an unexpected way. Seems to affect most Cisco routers and switches. It would be great if ssh keepalives could be disabled on a per-host basis.

The Solution

Add a checkbox to each host under the terminal tab to enable/disable ssh keepalives

I have had this occur on Debian based systems as well. Lost a fair bit of time trying to figure out why a ssh key wasn't working.
