@rschwab For Item #2, I've asked Phuong to change this shade of red to a compliant one when she gets back later this month. For Item #4, it's from a SoundCloud embed code, so not sure how much we can do...

For #7, there's two aspects: I've asked Springshare to hide our Profile pages (we don't use them anyway). But there are some other pages with these breadcrumbs. Can you update the main stylesheet to make these black instead of gray?

For the Profiles page, here are the instructions I received from Springshare to hide the main page and the individual pages:

To do this, you would create a custom template for both the Profile Landing Page and the Individual Profile Page which redirects a user to another URL you set in the template.

Remove everything in the template.
Add the following:

    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=https://url.com/" />
    <p><a href="https://url.com/">link title</a></p>

Adjust the URLs to redirect where desired.

Save.

Apply the template.

I've reviewed the most recent SiteImprove report and I believe that once we fix the hours page, the Video Games page, the breadcrumb styling is in place, and we've hidden our Profile pages that should solve all the current contrast issues!

@rschwab Additional code for the stylesheet to solve the Discussion Board contrast problem (it is not possible to hide the discussion boards...):

#s-lib-public-main>#s-lg-discussions-content {display: none;}

I think we would also need to either hide the title (since it's black against gray) or add a white background to the title for a complete solution.

For the profiles page, I couldn't find where to update the template, so I opened a ticket with Springshare seeking clarification on that. In the meantime I've updated the breadcrumbs as requested, and also discovered the button issue originated in our css for the drupal site (the styles for the hours/giving/contact/account menu). For now I've updated it so the buttons within the main section of a libguides page now use the dark blue background. You can see it here: https://guides.library.ucsc.edu/prf.php#

If we're not using discussion boards then it's probably fine to leave those as-is. My worry with hiding it with CSS is that it becomes a potential problem for future staff if they're trying to use the page and it shows up blank. Do you think it's okay to leave those for now?

It makes sense to me that any system-created pages that we do not use or link to that a user would not be able to discover should not be an accessibility concern. If that comports with the UC policy, then I agree that it's best to just ignore the profile page issue.
