Could also tick xp up on a constant interval, maybe only when the pet is awake. Maybe it scales based on mood or overall health. |

I'm hard at work cleaning up the messes from the 2.0 launch and starting to brainstorm new features and flow improvements. One thing that's been pointed out is that the XP scaling is too much. There are many creative ways to go about tackling this without necessarily making the numbers lower. Here's some thoughts I had:
Arcade Mode: Extended mini game sessions where xp can be earned quickly, perhaps with increasing difficulty/rewards as you go. This could easily be expanded to add boss fights that are truly hard but rewarding. This is probably what I'm gonna do.
XP Buff Items: Take a potion, get more XP. This is boring and I hate it but I'll probably offer it anyway.
Difficutly Levels: If you wanna live fast and die old that's cool with me, I can scale the XP earnings along with the requirements and offer several levels of difficulty for leveling/evolution. I could even tie them in with the decay modes to offer blazing fast gameplay (or super slow). I'll probably do that too.
