We had a meeting with NCAR staff who are adding a 1D lake sim module for WRF. here is the repo

Perhaps a model to consider adding if it is going to be widely used in WRF?

That does sound like a good idea to me. If you know of ways in which this model can be compiled and how it is used e.g. an example test case, that would be great. As currently with just one Fortran file, to me it is not so clear how to actually run the model.
