Attack Scenarios Mitigated

Scenario 1: Simple Memory Exhaustion

Attack: Send single 10GB request

  • Before: Daemon allocates 10GB, crashes
  • After: Request rejected at 1MB, daemon stable

Scenario 2: Repeated Large Requests

Attack: Send 100 x 100MB requests rapidly

  • Before: Memory grows to 10GB, system instability
  • After: All requests rejected, logs show attack pattern

Scenario 3: Slow Read Attack

Attack: Send data slowly to bypass timeouts

  • Before: Connection stays open, memory grows
  • After: Size limit enforced regardless of speed

Scenario 4: Malformed Large JSON

Attack: Send 1GB of {{{{{...}}}}} to exhaust parser
